Adapt Ability-Behind Bars In Brooklyn Services
Since the beginning Behind Bars In Brooklyn was a different type of bicycle store, dedicated to repair and sell accessories and bicycle parts. Our goal was to use and recycle what we had, that way we wouldn't contribute on the increase of garbage in our planet. We donated parts and recycled as much as we could for 6 years. As everyone knows, Adapt Ability is a project created by Behind Bars In Brooklyn. President and Founder of Behind Bars In Brooklyn, Sandra Alfonzo had decided to donate all of Behind Bars In Brooklyn inventory and tools to AdaptAbility.
In other words:
Adapt Ability and Behind Bars In Brooklyn is now one organization. We will keep providing repairs, the sale of parts and accessories, classes for children and other programs. Every sale, class and donation will be used for our organization, this way we can help our community in a bigger scale and start helping other communities in NY and hopefully one day in the complete US.
“I believe in Adapt Ability. Adapt Ability has the power to change the lives of hundreds of special needs children and adults with disabilities just with the use of a bicycle. Join us to break barriers in the cycling community allowing children and adults with disability being part of it, sharing the parks and bicycles lines and inviting the disability community to be part of bicycle rides.”
-Sandra Alfonzo
